“Community-based vehicular network for traffic information system”
The project focuses on vehicular ad hoc networks (VANETs) and their usage in traffic information systems (TIS). It comprises following elements:
- State-of-the-art of VANETs – the new and exciting technology in Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) using Dedicated Short Range Communication (DSRC) standard.
- Comprehensive literature overview of traffic management systems, especially traffic information systems (TIS)
- Proposal of a VANET-based TIS
- Generation of realistic vehicular traces
- Development of simulation platform for VANET-based TIS
- Proposal of VANET-based TIS – TrafficEQ
- Simulation-based evaluation of TrafficEQ
